zZuP! is a campus social app built on one idea: dual identity. Every student has both a real self and a pet, and every interaction with a stranger begins through the pet. That layer of mediation removes the hardest, most exposed moment in campus social life — walking up as yourself and risking the rejection. You aren't "adding a friend"; your pet met someone else's pet while it was out traveling.

There are only two ways in, both framed as the pet traveling. The Drifting Bottle is asynchronous: your pet carries a note — text, image, or voice — out into the world, to be found and answered by a stranger. Pet Chat is synchronous, a live conversation, with the option to let an AI speak for your pet first and lower the cost of the opening line.

Both interactions are temporary by default — they evaporate unless they grow. Only when both sides choose to continue does a thread become a permanent DM, and only then does it unlock the real person behind the pet. The bet is simple: when social contact steps back from person-to-person to pet-to-pet, the cost of breaking the ice drops sharply — and real relationships grow more easily because of it.
